Commentary

This is an action-filled, almost theatrical scene. Three red planks of red create a backdrop over a scene in which the framed characters are acting melodramatically. It seems to be the middle of the night, and below in the alley there is a confrontation between, I think, a policeman and a punk boy who has stolen some money. The framed characters are in a state of panic as they overlook the scene. There's a baby with a gun and a sack of money in the first window, a woman in the second window dropping a flower pot, a man in the third window dropping a bomb, and a man in the fourth window trying to commit suicide. Under the streetlight stands a peace-loving hippie girl, holding a peace pendant in her outstreched hand, as though in protest of the surrounding events.
